Earlier this year, Jess was referred to My Expert® broker, Jayde Lees, seeking to finance the purchase of a house and land package in Wallan, north of Melbourne. We were in the process of finalising contracts and preparing her application when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Lender approval on JobKeeper
A personal trainer, Jess, like so many in the fitness industry, was unable to work as the gym that employed her was forced to close. Undeterred, she called Jayde a couple of weeks later with the exciting news her employer had successfully secured the government JobKeeper subsidy. We then ran the scenario by our lenders, who confirmed they would accept Jess’s application.
While only in a position to purchase the land, Jess was ecstatic. She’d grown to love the block during the process and didn’t want to let it go. So she was happy to put construction on hold and has since settled her land.
Reducing the stress
“Buying your first home on your own can be very stressful, but Jayde took all the stresses out of the whole process,” says Jess. “She was with me every single step of the way and her kind manner and level of communication were above and beyond.”
Jess returned to work but is on JobKeeper again due to the latest COVID-19 restrictions. The positive news is she will be able to meet her mortgage repayments until she can get back to the gym.
